177Q@435 serves high school aged students with special needs. Class ratios include self-contained 12:1:1, 8:1:1 and 6:1:1. Curriculum is aligned to NYS Alternate Assessment Standards. Our school community is dedicated to fostering its students' development through a range of academic and vocational programs. Our mission is to empower students by equipping them with academic knowledge, technological skills, activities of daily living (ADL), and community-based instruction. Our site recognizes the importance of independence and self-advocacy. Our training specifically incorporates ADL skills that provide students with the skills needed for continued independence. In addition, our career-oriented focus aims to prepare students for future employment and success in their careers through community and in-site work opportunities. We have established a collaborative relationship with our campus partners, Martin Van Buren, and Business Tech High School, where students engage in joint activities and actively foster mutual growth. Such programs include the Best Buddy Program and the Special Olympics Unified Basketball Team.
