Celebrating Black History Month at P177Q Panthers

This vibrant event featured numerous honorees, including administrators, parents, staff, students, and visiting performers, all coming together to celebrate.

Classes at P177Q collaborated to present a well-rounded performance that highlighted the achievements of African-Americans in various fields, including athletics, inventions, famous quotes, television sitcoms, and music. The dance performances were particularly lovely, with colorful costumes that brought each routine to life. Students showcased their talents through engaging dance numbers and inspiring presentations, creating an infectious energy in the auditorium. Invited performers from Achievement First Brooklyn High School danced four numbers and told a story with each piece.

In addition to the celebrations, our school received special recognition from New York State Senator Leroy Comrie from the Southeast Queens office for our partnership with Healthy Healing Community. We were proud to be awarded for our fundraising efforts, successfully raising $500 for this worthy organization.

This event not only celebrated history but also fostered community spirit and pride among all participants. What a fantastic way to honor the contributions of Black individuals throughout history!
