177Q Library Media Center

Welcome

A Letter From The Librarians:

The P177 Library Media Center is now open to everyone! Our students have been working hard since September to organize and catalogue all the new resources and material in all formats, awarded by the VITAL and Minibuild Grants.

The goal of the P177 Library Program is to provide intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats to enrich our instruction and align with the curriculum.  Our library program is diverse and individualized to fit the needs of each of our students encouraging reading for pleasure to make personal connections to real world experiences.

The library also is a functioning worksite.  Students are continuing to practice social skills and are learning organizational skills, and how to catalogue and shelve books.  While working in the library students use problem solving skills and critical thinking skills to gain independence.

Come and visit the library to enhance literacy instruction to access texts in a variety of different formats.  We have a BRAND-NEW COLLECTION of books ranging from easy reader picture books, graphic novels, cookbooks, how to, careers, all the way to chapter books.  eBooks and audio readers are also available.  To meet the needs of all our students', different sensory tools and areas are set up throughout the library for access.  Don't forget to use the digital interactive libraries which include SORA, EPIC, and Destiny Discover.  Click the virtual office below to get started.
